Welcome — you're not on your own

Hello, and welcome. If you're here because someone you love has muscular dystrophy, you're in the right place. This room is for parents, partners, siblings, children, relatives, and anyone supporting or caring about someone with MD. Whether you're looking after someone every day, trying to understand a new diagnosis, or simply wondering how other families cope, you're among people who get it. You don't need to have all the answers, and you don't need to be the "strong one" all the time. You can ask practical questions, share what's been difficult, celebrate good news, or just read along until you feel ready to join in. A few things about how we'd like it to feel in here: Everyone's family is different, and everyone's experience is too. Some people are caring for a young child, others for a partner, a parent, or an adult son or daughter. There's no right way to support someone, and no single "family journey." It's okay to talk about the person you support, but it's okay to talk about yourself too. Looking after someone can bring love, pride, worry, frustration, grief, hope—and often all of those in the same week. if you are talking about someone you are for please don't use there name without there permission. if they are happy for you to do so please only use a first name to protect there privacy. Be kind. That's really the only rule. So, say hello if you'd like. Tell us who you are, what brought you here, or what's on your mind today. Or don't. One line is plenty. It all counts.
